Job Title: Trainee SEN Support Worker - Secondary SEN School
Location: Greenwich, London
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: September 2025, or ASAP for the right candidate
Pay Rate: £110 - £115 per day

What you'll be doing:

As a Trainee SEN Support Worker, you'll be part of a close-knit classroom team supporting students in both educational and care-based activities.

Your role will include:

Supporting with a sensory-based, personalised curriculum

Helping students engage in creative and therapeutic activities like music, art, and hydrotherapy

Assisting with communication using tools like PECS, Makaton, and AAC

Encouraging social interaction, emotional regulation, and independent skills

Providing personal care, feeding, and support with transitions throughout the day

Working alongside therapists, teachers, and other specialists as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Being a consistent, calm and grounding presence for young people with high support needs

The ideal candidate will:

Build trust and relationships with students over time

Be resilient and reflective, able to manage big emotions and unexpected moments

Work well in a team and follow guidance

Be willing to support personal care needs in a respectful and professional way
