Trainee Sales Ledger Clerk - Entry-Level Opportunity

Lichfield | £24,500 - £26,000 | Driving Required | Hybrid (Tues-Thurs in office)

Gleeson is excited to be partnering with a well-established business in Lichfield that's undergoing an exciting restructure! They're looking for a Trainee Sales Ledger Clerk to join their finance team - a brilliant opportunity for someone eager to kick-start their career in accounts.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Raising invoices across different cost centres, handling around 900 invoices per month.
  2. Creating invoices through various portals and ensuring they are accurately recorded for multiple depots.
  3. Generating invoices on behalf of the sales team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across daily, weekly, and monthly cycles.
  4. Managing batch invoicing, working with high-volume data entry while maintaining precision.
  5. Handling ad hoc invoice requests, including manual invoicing for specific transactions.
  6. Supporting the wider finance team with administrative and ad hoc tasks as needed.
  7. Opportunities to get involved with other areas, such as assisting with credit checks further down the line.

Who We're Looking For:
  1. Some prior exposure to finance - whether that's 3-6 months in an accounts role or working towards an AAT qualification.
  2. Strong attention to detail - this role is hands-on and requires accuracy.
  3. A proactive, can-do attitude - someone who takes initiative and wants to develop in finance.
  4. Comfortable handling numbers and data, with a keen eye for spotting errors.
  5. Must be able to drive due to office location.
