Job description

The role of Trainee Sales Engineer is to be part of the existing Protec Fire Detection PLC system sales team, now part of the Bosch Group, focusing on future development and training for a System Sales Engineer position.

We are looking to grow our system sales in the Hampshire area by appointing a suitable candidate to work as a sales engineer in both a trainee and supporting role within a dedicated and professional sales team. The ideal candidate will have the motivation to become an integral part of the sales team.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Learn to prepare System Designs for BS 5839 (Fire Alarm and EVC) and BS 8629 (Evacuation) Systems.
  • Visit sites to carry out surveys or condition reports.
  • Complete and submit surveys and small works quotations.
  • Support regional sales or design team resources as allocated.
  • Develop sales skills and learn techniques adopted by successful sales teams.
  • Produce Technical Submissions.
  • Create Project-Specific quotation write-ups with supporting information such as Schematics, Tender Deliverables, Qualitative and Contractual Information.
  • Prepare and deliver PowerPoint Presentations for bid processes.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations to end users, M&E consultants, and electrical contractors.
  • Work flexibly within a busy division and meet short timescales.
  • Understand commercial elements related to contracts and quotations.
  • Under the guidance of the Regional Sales Manager / Business Development Manager, pursue leads and opportunities.
  • Support the growth of system sales for Protec Fire Detection PLC.
  • Engage with clients and attend meetings across the UK as required.
