Job summary

Cambridge Roof Exchange is offering an entry-level trainee role within a commercial roofing contractor, designed to develop a long-term career in roofing. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced roofers, surveyors and estimators, gaining practical experience in installation, repairs, site surveying and estimating.

Location is Comberton, Cambridge, with nationwide travel between CRE project sites.

Qualifications

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or willingness to work towards Construction-related qualification
• Right to work in the UK
• Minimum age 18
• Full UK driving licence (multi-site travel required)
• Willingness to obtain CSCS card within probationary period or carry existing CSCS card

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced roofers with installation, repair and maintenance of commercial roofing systems.
• Learn correct installation methods, repair techniques and safe working practices across roof systems.
• Assist with on-site inspections, condition surveys and defect logging.
• Support quantity take-offs, material pricing and preparation of scopes of work and quotations.
• Participate in health and safety duties, toolbox talks and site inductions.
