Trainee Remediation Project Manager

Overview

We are urgently seeking a Trainee Remediation Project Manager to join a brownfield Site Investigation and Ground Remediation specialist consultancy contractor to work from their Glasgow office. Suitable candidates will already have Geo Environmental and or Remediation site investigation or site management experience and looking to take a step into Project Management.



Responsibilities

As a Trainee Remediation Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of remediation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Supporting the preparation of project documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and progress reports.
  • Collaborating with geo-environmental specialists to assess site conditions and develop tailored remediation strategies.
  • Monitoring on-site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain clear communication and foster strong working relationships.
  • Conducting site visits to oversee remediation works and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in remediation and geo-environmental management.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A keen interest in remediation and geo-environmental projects, with a desire to build a career in this sector.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.


Day-to-Day

Your day-to-day activities will involve:

  • Initially shadowing experienced project managers to gain hands-on experience in remediation project delivery.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project plans and schedules.
  • Conducting site inspections and gathering data for geo-environmental assessments.
  • Supporting the implementation of remediation techniques, such as soil treatment, groundwater management, and waste disposal.
  • Attending team meetings and contributing to project discussions.
  • Learning to use industry-specific software and tools to analyze data and generate reports.
