Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is offering a 12-month Industry Placement Programme for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. You will support commercial teams across live projects, developing Chartered QS skills while gaining practical experience in cost management, contracts, procurement and financial performance.

The role interacts with Project Delivery, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Design Management, and Finance teams, with locations across the UK and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Degree subjects suitable for the role include construction and management disciplines.
• Experience with commercial processes is beneficial but not required.
• Aspiring Chartered Quantity Surveyors welcome; relevant studies encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly cost management activities on live projects.
• Assist with subcontract administration and maintain commercial records.
• Aid interim applications and final accounts processes.
• Measure and quantify construction works.
• Support valuation of variations and commercial reporting.
• Assist with risk management and maintain project documentation.
