Job summary

Holt Engineering is seeking a Trainee Quality Inspector to join a busy Poole manufacturing environment. This full-time role offers training and a clear path to a permanent position after a trial period.

The successful candidate will carry out inspections, read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment. You will support the quality team, document results and help maintain high standards across production lines.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production or quality environment is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable using measuring and inspection equipment (verniers, microscopes, etc.).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to report issues clearly.
• Reliable, organised and able to work to high standards.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a quality inspection role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, final and patrol inspections throughout production.
• Inspect components and finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and company drawings.
• Use inspection equipment such as verniers, microscopes and other tools.
• Identify non-conforming or rejected products and record findings.
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
• Report quality concerns and risks to management.
• Work with production and inspection teams to maintain quality.
• Support investigations into quality issues and identify causes.
• Ensure products manufactured to specifications and procedures.
• Follow quality, health and safety procedures at all times.
