Kirklees Council Apprenticeships – building a future workforce
Our vision for Kirklees is to have a strong economy with a great quality of life, built on thriving communities, growing businesses, high prosperity and low inequality, where people enjoy better health throughout their lives.
To achieve this, we need a diverse and talented workforce.
Our highly rated apprenticeship programmes will allow you to earn, learn and build a successful career.
You will learn from experienced staff in the workplace, be sponsored to undertake an industry recognised university qualification by virtual study, and benefit from a supportive work environment.
We offer a competitive salary, with access to our staff benefits, pensions, employee networks and wellbeing packages.
Our roles are suitable for all ages, from school- and college-leavers, to those looking to re-train in a different career (we also offer opportunities for graduates through our higher-level apprenticeship programme).
Working within the Kirklees Public Health Improvement team, this role will contribute to the reduction of health inequalities and inspire health improvement by supporting strategic local and operational work areas. By understanding how the wider determinants of health (wider factors that impact on our health such as jobs, housing, food, transport, the environment and more) can affect health and wellbeing, and by using relevant skills and knowledge, this role will assist with the ambition for sustainable improved outcomes across the life course of the local population.
As part of the team, this role will support colleagues to evidence, influence, develop and deliver information, knowledge and resources for Council colleagues, local populations, and partner organisations. Working together with team members and with some self-reliance, this role will contribute to the shared outcomes of the Council, empowering residents and communities to live healthier independent lives for as long as possible through tackling inequalities and embracing inclusion and diversity.
