Job summary

Mental Health Matters is seeking 8 Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to support NHS service delivery across Staffordshire. Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (021891) Stafford, England

Salary: GBP26530 - GBP29114 per annum

Job Title:Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (TPWP)

Grade: £26,530 with progression to £29,114 (Band 4)

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday including a minimum of one 12-8pm shift. Possibility of weekends in the future, depending on service needs.

Term: Permanent upon successful completion of course.

Location: Staffordshire Talking Therapies, various locations.

We have an amazing opportunity for 8 Trainee PWPs to join our services across Staffordshire. We have 3 vacancies in Cannock, 3 vacancies in Stafford and 2 vacancies in Tamworth.

This exciting role has been developed to support patient care and NHS service delivery.

About the role

The programme of learning is delivered jointly between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) and the University of Birmingham (UoB). If successful the post holder will be required to attend a minimum of 1 day teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The postholder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.

About You

If you are a highly organised and motivated individual with a commitment to the NHS and patient care then we would welcome your application to study for the professional role of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. Successful candidates will be trained to deliver Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, which are the cornerstone of NHS Talking Therapies Services (formally known as IAPT).

Successful applicants will hold:

  • Qualifications suitable to their level of study
  • A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent (e.g., Registered Nurses and AHPs).
  • Graduate Certificate route
  • Advanced Level GCEs (A-C) or equivalent (e.g., B-tec, GNVQ, NVQ Level 3 and 4).
  • Relevant experience necessary for clinical practice
  • Significant experience of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem.
