This training role involves providing Step 2 Guided Self-Help low-intensity interventions while studying at an education provider. PWPs support individuals with depression and anxiety, including those with long-term physical health conditions. The training prepares you to deliver guided interventions independently, with support from supervisors.
We seek motivated, resilient, empathetic individuals with a good understanding of local community needs and services. The services are part of the national Talking Therapies initiative across Cheshire and Merseyside, delivered by various organisations, some non-NHS.
Application sharing and registration details, including requirements for professional registration with BPS or BABCP, are provided. Read the full advert, job description, and person specification carefully. Include how you meet these criteria in your application, and specify your first and second service choices.
Attendance at the full training course is mandatory, along with pre-employment checks. Candidates must demonstrate successful study at Level 5 or above; consider the PWP apprenticeship route if not.
Successful applicants will enroll at the university, undertake self-directed study, and upon completion, earn a Level 6 PWP qualification and a potential permanent position. Qualified PWPs can progress to senior roles with additional responsibilities.
