Trainee Power Engineer

Sheffield / Manchester

£38,000 - £45,000 + Training + Up to 15% Annual Bonus + Increased Earnings (Overtime, Bonuses and Call Out) + Van, Tools and Equipment + Healthcare Plans + 7% Pension + 33 Days Holiday Allowance

Are you a mechanical engineer with experience in engines, looking to train as a Power Engineer where you will gain a skillset within the renewable energy industry securing yourself a futureproof job?

Do you want to work for a leading organisation within the industry, where you will have a secure position in the waste to energy sector - and receive full training and development along with a generous package?

The company is a leading landfill operator in the UK - looking to change the way waste is dealt with across the country. With zero carbon goals, this is an opportunity to join the carbon zero revolution by facilitating the conversion of waste into renewable energy on an industrial scale. In this role, you will be maintaining and servicing power equipment.

The Role:

  1. Service and maintenance of heavy industrial engines, along with other power equipment such as CHP engines, Gas Reciprocating Engines and more.
  2. Preventative, reactive and breakdown services.
  3. Fault diagnosis - with record keeping and log taking.
  4. 1 in 5 call out rota - paid at a standby rate AND enhanced rate.

The Candidate:

  1. Mechanical Engineer - experience in maintenance and repair.
  2. Time served or qualified.
  3. Experience in petrol / diesel engine maintenance / overhauls / repairs.
  4. Perfect for those in army, REME, HGV Mechanics, Power, agricultural or heavy plant industries.
