Role Overview:
We are looking for a Trainee Portfolio Manager. This role involves servicing and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients and intermediaries, as well as assisting in all aspects of our Centralised Investment Process (CIP).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the team with portfolio management tasks, including trading, rebalancing, risk monitoring, suitability assessments, data entry, and compiling data packs.
  2. Assist with asset allocation and investment research for Charles Stanley Asset Management portfolios.
  3. Participate in investment meetings, produce rationales, document minutes, and store documents appropriately.
  4. Monitor centralised inboxes and respond to queries promptly and efficiently.
  5. Ensure all client communications are actioned and documented as required.
  6. Facilitate cross-divisional collaboration within Asset Management.
  7. Coordinate and produce marketing materials and other collateral.
  8. Liaise with risk rating agencies to facilitate product ratings and communicate with internal stakeholders.
  9. Collaborate with the Intermediary Sales Team and Marketing department regarding Asset Management products and services.
  10. Ensure adherence to personnel and health & safety policies and procedures.
  11. Promote a compliance culture and ensure personal compliance with all regulatory issues.
  12. Stay updated on market investment information and professional developments to support portfolio managers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. University degree or equivalent industry experience.
  2. IMC/IAD or willingness to complete.
  3. Willingness to pursue CFA exams.
  4. Knowledge of multi-asset investment products is desirable.
  5. Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  6. Knowledge of third-party investment/custody platforms is desirable.
