Job summary

A leading company seeks Trainee Photofinish Operators to ensure the integrity of race results during events. Successful candidates will participate in outdoor broadcasts, and gain skills in photography and race camera operations. Applicants should be detail-oriented, physically fit, and possess a driving license. Full training will be provided, and applicants must be within 30 minutes drive of operational bases.

Qualifications

  • Good colour vision and high levels of concentration required.
  • Physically fit, able to work at heights, and prepared to travel.
  • Driving licence essential; HGV desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and deliver photofinish integrity service on race day.
  • Align photofinish mirror and survey racecourse winning line.
  • Participate in the driving of vehicles and operate a race camera.

Job description

Trainee Photofinish Operators are trained to set up, rig and deliver the photofinish integrity service on race day providing high quality images to the judges to allow correct determination of the race result. You will also learn how to correctly align the photofinish mirror as well as survey the racecourse winning line. As part of the race day TV Outside Broadcast team you will participate in the driving of our vehicles and on occasions may be required to operate a race camera – full training will be provided.

With good colour vision, attention to detail and high levels of concentration, you should have a good understanding of photography and lenses. With accomplished IT and communication skills, you must be physically fit, able to work at heights and have an aptitude for problem solving. You must also be prepared to travel and to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. A driving licence is essential; HGV is desirable.
