Job Opportunity: Trainee Payroll Officer

Applications are invited from individuals wishing to pursue a career in Payroll. Join NHS Tayside’s Payroll Services Department based in MacKenzie Building, Ninewells Hospital. We offer a competitive salary, flexible working hours, pension scheme, benefits, and a comprehensive two-year training program including a professional qualification to prepare you for a future in NHS Payroll.

  1. Hours of work: 37 hours per week
  2. Team Responsibilities: Processing weekly and monthly pays for approximately 19,000 staff
  3. Training and Salary: During training, earn £24,308 (Band 4), with study towards the CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate. Upon successful completion, salary progresses to £29,116 - £31,670.
  4. Experience and Qualifications: Candidates with existing CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate and NHS payroll experience will progress directly to Band 4. Applicants should have 4+ qualifications at National 5 or above, including Maths and English, with attention to detail, accuracy, and good communication skills.
  5. Additional Notes: Post does not meet Home Office Sponsorship/Skilled Worker Visa guidelines. Successful candidates must achieve healthcare support induction standards and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
