Trainee Payroll Administrator

Location: Aberdeen

We focus on asset management services throughout all lifecycle phases, from consulting to decommissioning.

Our experienced workforce of over 4,500 employees operates from 14 strategic offices, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and quality.

This role involves the production of weekly payrolls across multiple sites with various contractual agreements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll across multiple contracts within the set deadlines
  • Handle pay processing according to different pay agreements
  • Manage starters and leavers, including termination payments
  • Calculate redundancy payments and statutory payments such as SMP, SPP, SSP, and occupational sick pay
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure clear communication and timely completion of tasks
  • Address payroll queries promptly and professionally
  • Complete relevant correspondence timely
  • Generate reports for various departments
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems
  • Follow payroll policies, processes, and procedures
  • Engage with third-party providers such as pension schemes, HMRC, and courts
  • Complete a Payroll Qualification (training provided)

Experience and Qualifications

  • National 5 Maths - Grade C or above
  • National 5 English - Grade C or above
  • Previous payroll experience is desirable but not essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially intermediate Excel skills
