Job summary

Compliance Group Electrical is seeking a Trainee PAT Tester to join the team. The role offers training to the right person and involves learning PAT testing and electrical inspections in accordance with IET guidance.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential and some travel or overnight stays may be required to meet client needs. A competitive salary and benefits package are included.

• Desirable PAT testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2377) or willingness to train.
• Recognised PAT testing qualification preferred but training available.
• Full UK manual driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Portable Appliance Testing in line with IET guidance and code of practice.
• Submit daily reports and track working hours within deadlines.
• Liaise with site contacts and Contracts Managers to ensure client satisfaction.
• Participate in Health & Safety training and assist with operational tasks.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to travel and stay away from home when required. There may also be occasions when you ll need to work outside of core business hours to meet operational requirements.

Here s a look at some of the things you ll be doing:

• Carrying out Portable Appliance Testing in accordance with the IET In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Code of Practice, including fuse changes, plug replacements and re-terminations where required
• Submitting daily reports to the required standard, sending working hours daily and ensuring all works are completed within agreed timeframes
• Liaising with site contacts and Contracts Managers to provide regular updates, resolve site issues and deliver excellent client service whilst working independently or as part of a team
• Completing Health & Safety training and assisting with operational requirements such as van swaps and servicing appointments

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

• Experience carrying out PAT testing and electrical inspection work, ideally supported by a relevant PAT testing qualification but not essential as training will be provided
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to organise workloads, liaise with clients and maintain high standards of professionalism
• Ability to work independently
• A strong work ethic with excellent punctuality, flexibility to travel and stay away when required and commitment to completing work efficiently and thoroughly
