Overview

As a Trainee Nursing Assistant at HC-One, you will be a role model, embodying kindness in our Memory Care, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will help ensure residents receive person-centred care with choices and independence, while maintaining resident wellbeing in mind at all times.

This development-focused role provides an outstanding program to upskill Senior Care Assistants to undertake more responsibility and develop the skills needed to be a Nursing Assistant. The role includes tasks such as administering medicines, care of wounds, catheter care and other direct clinical tasks, under the supervision and guidance of a qualified nurse. A salary increase is provided once the program is completed.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering care planning arrangements to residents with a focus on choice and independence
  • Support nursing tasks delegated by a qualified nurse
  • Report accidents and monitor residents showing signs of dementia with the aim of safeguarding and wellbeing
  • Contribute to person-led care planning processes in line with regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Care (or working towards)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Health & Social Care as a Senior Carer or similar leadership role, especially around administering medicines and leading a shift
  • Knowledge and understanding of person-led care planning and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Safeguarding awareness and ability to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect; ability to seek advice and escalate concerns as needed
