About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Mounter, who will learn how to prepare and assemble precious metal components to create both bespoke and production jewellery. Working with experienced professionals, you'll gradually build skills in techniques such as soldering, laser welding, and polishing, while following technical drawings and working to high quality standards.

This is a great opportunity to begin a career in jewellery manufacturing and gain experience with both traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies like CAD and 3D printing.

Role Responsibilities

As you progress through training, you will learn to:

  • Work from detailed technical CAD drawings and product specifications to help produce jewellery that meets exacting standards.
  • Prepare components by de-spruing, buffing, and filing under the supervision of experienced colleagues.
  • Assemble multi-part mounts using flame and laser welding techniques to create seamless, high-quality joins.
  • Support daily production workflow and gradually take responsibility for meeting individual targets.
  • Review and assess 3D printed models and learn how to give feedback to support design development.
  • Use laser technology for resizing and repairs (training provided).
  • Polish and finish pieces to a high aesthetic standard.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment with well-kept tools and equipment.

Candidate Requirements, Behaviours & Competencies

Communication Skills:

  • Verbal: Clear, confident, and professional communication with colleagues in your team and internal departments.
  • Written: Basic email and documentation skills.

Adaptability & Resilience:

  • Ability to stay calm and focused when learning new tasks, adapt to feedback, and manage time in a busy environment.

Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • A proactive team player who fosters a positive work environment and collaborates effectively with colleagues across departments.

Attention to Detail:

  • Willingness to learn precision skills and focus on accuracy in every task.

Problem-Solving & Initiative:

  • Curiosity and a positive mindset to improve processes and solve small challenges during training.

Time Management & Organisation:

  • Ability to manage time effectively, follow a structured workflow, and maintain an organised approach to tasks.

Qualifications and Education

  • No prior jewellery experience required.
  • Experience working with your hands in any context is a plus (e.g., craft, model-making, DIY).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • A genuine interest in a long-term career in jewellery or manufacturing is essential.
  • Training will be provided: The trainee will learn through observation and practical application, working alongside experienced technicians.
