Trainee Mortgage Broker

Main purpose of role: Book appointments for financial advisers by contacting new and existing clients while providing a 5-star service. Grow knowledge and experience working alongside qualified advisers with the aim of providing mortgage & protection advice to clients once qualified.

Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.30pm

Key Responsibilities:

1. Selling Mortgage and Life Products
   • Follow up leads and book appointments for potential new clients
   • Follow up mortgage reviews and generate appointments
   • Sit in on client appointments and draft follow-up communications
   • Recommend the best deal for the client
   • Print illustrations and comparables
   • Recommend Life cover, prepare life quotes, and follow through to close
   • Place Mortgage and life cases on the Smartr system
2. Systems and Processes
   • Learn the Mortgage Brain System
   • Obtain Agreements In Principle (AIP) prior to submission of full application
   • Research quotes on Mortgage Brain
   • Become fully conversant with the Smartr system
   • Understand electronic identification process (EIDV)
3. Research and Market Knowledge
   • Research mortgage products to identify the best deal for the client
   • Recommend panel Solicitors
   • Understand different types of surveys
   • Ensure Sesame Learning Plans are dealt with as they fall due
   • Read and understand Sesame compliance manual

Requirements:

• Proven interest and skills in sales
• Thorough understanding of all applicable legislation (list key requirements)
• Committed to studying for CEMAP 1, 2, and 3 examinations
• Ambition to succeed
• Familiarity working within the estate agency or mortgage environment is preferred
