The AA is inviting applications for its Trainee Mobile Mechanic Programme. This structured development opportunity is designed for newcomers starting their automotive careers, offering hands-on training, mentoring and real-world experience to become an AA Mobile Mechanic.

You’ll begin with onboarding and instruction, then progressively take on more responsibility as skills grow, with a path to long-term roles across roadside and specialist technical teams.

Qualifications

• You don’t need years of experience in a garage. Previous full-time automotive experience isn’t essential.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• Genuine interest in cars and the automotive industry.
• Willingness to learn and a practical, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding, technical training, mentoring and shadowing as you start.
• Develop practical skills on customers’ vehicles, including servicing and faultfinding.
• Potential to build roadside assistance skills depending on location.
• Progress through the programme to work more independently.

At The AA, we’re looking for the next generation of automotive talent to join our Trainee Mobile Mechanic Programme.

This isn’t a role where we expect you to arrive knowing everything. It’s a structured development programme designed for people at the start of their automotive career. We’ll give you the training, support and hands‑on experience you need to develop your career as an AA Mobile Mechanic

As you become more confident anddemonstrateyour competence,you’llprogress through the programme and start working more independently.
