The AA is recruiting for a Trainee Mobile Mechanic Programme. This structured development path is designed for those starting their automotive careers, providing training, support and hands-on experience to grow into an AA Mobile Mechanic role.

You will begin with onboarding and technical training, mentored by experienced colleagues, and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills grow. A clear career pathway awaits beyond the programme.

At The AA, we’re looking for the next generation of automotive talent to join our Trainee Mobile Mechanic Programme.

This isn’t a role where we expect you to arrive knowing everything. It’s a structured development programme designed for people at the start of their automotive career. We’ll give you the training, support and hands‑on experience you need to develop your career as an AA Mobile Mechanic

What will I be doing?

From day one,you’llbe learning from experienced people who know the job inside out.

You’llstart with onboarding, technical training,mentoringand shadowing before gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills and confidence grow.You’llgain practical experience working on customers’ vehicles, developing your skills in areas such as servicing, inspections and faultfinding.Depending on your location and development pathway, you may also build roadsideassistanceskills as you progress through the programme.

As you become more confident anddemonstrateyour competence,you’llprogress through the programme and start working more independently.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need years of experience in a garage. In fact,previousfull-time automotive experienceisn’tessential.

We’re much more interested in your potential, attitude and enthusiasm.

You’ll need:

• Afull UK driving licence
• A genuine interest in cars and the automotive industry
• A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to learn
• Good problem-solving skills
• The confidence to talk to and help customers
• Resilience, reliability and a positive attitude
• The motivation to build a long-term career
