Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talentwise is recruiting a Trainee Mechanical Fitter in Grangemouth to join a busy rail freight maintenance team. You will learn inspection, repair, maintenance and refurbishment of wagons under expert guidance, with a structured training programme and overtime opportunities.

No rail experience is required; hands-on mechanics and the use of spanners, torque wrenches and grinders are valued as part of the learning path.

Are you hands on, mechanically minded, and looking to learn a skilled trade?

We're recruiting for a Trainee Mechanical Fitter to join a busy rail freight maintenance team in Grangemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining specialist engineering skills through a structured training programme.

No rail experience is required. If you have an interest in mechanics, enjoy practical work, and have experience using tools such as spanners, torque wrenches, or grinders, we'd like to hear from you.

• Pay increases at 6 and 12 months

• Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x rates

The Role

You'll learn how to inspect, repair, maintain, and refurbish rail freight wagons while working alongside experienced fitters and engineers.

The role is physically demanding and includes mechanical fitting, fault finding, fabrication, repairs, and general wagon maintenance.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to pass a pre employment medical
