Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a trainee meat trimmer/butcher to join a leading meat processing plant and to develop skills to prepare, bone and trim product to meet customer specifications in a production environment.

You will be working in a meat processing plant, with training and progression opportunities for the right candidates and exposure to a wide customer base across local and international markets.

Qualifications

• Possess good communication and team working skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service.
• A desire to progress within the business and demonstrate a strong willingness to undertake all training required for the role.
• Experience within a similar role or within the food industry would be advantageous – however, full training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Using a knife in a safe manner at all times in line with company procedures.
• Boning and trimming beef products following customer specifications.
• Confidently cutting product to weight and thickness specifications.
• Advising production management on issues with raw material quality and/or specification.
• Working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to ensure production runs smoothly.
• Maintain current yields and quality standards.
