Got a Maths degree and want to teach – but don’t fancy going back to uni?

This salaried trainee Maths teacher role in Central Birmingham lets you earn while you train, gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and launch your teaching career in a supportive secondary school.

The Role
You’ll join the school full-time from September 2025 as a Trainee Maths Teacher, working alongside experienced staff while completing your teacher training on the job. You’ll be delivering lessons, supporting GCSE and A-Level learners, and gradually taking on more responsibility as your training progresses. All tuition and mentoring are covered by the school—you just turn up, teach, and learn.

The Offer
  • Salaried teacher training route
  • QTS by July 2026
  • Expert mentors and subject-specific coaching
  • Full classroom responsibility from day one, with real support
  • Long-term career opportunities in the trust

The Candidate
You’ll need a degree with strong Maths content (ideally 2:1 or above), confidence in explaining mathematical concepts, and a genuine desire to teach. Some experience with young people helps, but your attitude, resilience, and ability to build rapport will matter more.

The School
Located in the heart of Birmingham, this Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ secondary has a reputation for nurturing talent. Staff development is a top priority, and they have a track record of successfully training and retaining teachers. You’ll be part of a committed team that values subject knowledge and high standards.
