The NHS seeks a dedicated individual for the role of Trainee Lymphedema Practitioner, focusing on patient-centered care for individuals at risk of lymphoedema. You will develop essential skills in a supportive environment, leading to progression to Band 6 after training, contributing positively to the patient experience in various settings.
We have an exciting opportunity for a registered healthcare professional seeking a new challenge or change in direction. We are looking for a motivated and caring individual with a passion for patient-centred care to join our specialist team as a Trainee Lymphedema Practitioner. The position progresses to Band 6 after successful completion of a 12-month training program.
Under the guidance of experienced specialists, you will assess, support, and manage patients with or at risk of lymphoedema. You will develop essential skills for autonomous practice across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
At Dorothy House, we provide compassionate care and support for individuals in our community with life-limiting illnesses. We create personalized care journeys starting from diagnosis and extending to bereavement support for families, carers, and children.
TRAINEE LYMPHOEDEMA PRACTITIONER | Band 5 | £29,970 - £36,483 per annum (pro rata)
Progression to Band 6 occurs after successful completion of the training.
You will be supported to complete accredited lymphoedema training and gain competence in managing caseloads of palliative and non-palliative patients, holistic assessment, delivering care techniques such as SLD, MLD, bandaging, and compression therapy, supporting patients through tailored care plans, and contributing to service development and innovation.
Same as above, emphasizing the development of skills in assessment, treatment, and patient support, along with contributing to service improvement initiatives.
Hours of work
This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week, based at Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley and in the community.
