Trainee LEV Engineer - Northampton - Up to £30,000

About The Company

Our client is looking for a motivated and technically-minded Trainee LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in occupational hygiene, engineering, or environmental safety. Full training and mentoring will be provided to help you become a qualified LEV engineer.

Covering: Northampton and the surrounding area.

Trainee LEV Engineer - The Rewards

Trainee LEV Engineer - Requirements

  • Experience working in a mechanical engineering environment, ideally as an apprentice, fitter, or technician.
  • Interest in engineering, occupational hygiene, or health and safety.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential, due to site visits).
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic IT literacy (Microsoft Office, report writing tools).

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous experience in a technical, engineering, or HVAC role.
  • Knowledge of LEV systems or ventilation equipment.
  • Understanding of HSE guidance, such as HSG258.

Trainee LEV Engineer - Responsibilities

  • Assist in the testing, inspection, and maintenance of LEV systems in various workplace environments.
  • Support senior engineers in conducting LEV surveys in accordance with HSE guidance.
  • Record and report findings accurately using standard documentation and software.
  • Attend training courses to work towards P601 certification (or equivalent).
  • Maintain health and safety standards while working on-site.
  • Liaise with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
