Job Overview

Our trainee programme has been developed to attract experienced industry professionals, with expert industry knowledge and skills, to work in Further Education. Their understanding of the latest skills, techniques, approaches, and equipment has the potential to improve student outcomes.

Joining Bury College as a Trainee Lecturer in Biology, you will be employed on a full-time or part-time basis. While studying on campus towards a recognised teaching qualification, you will have a reduced teaching commitment of no more than 18 hours per week. You will also receive extensive support, guidance, and mentoring.

The College will fund the cost of your Teaching Qualification, and the trainee programme is designed to ensure you acquire all the necessary skills to become a teacher.

About You

Candidates should hold a degree in Biology or a related subject and have experience working in a biology or science-focused role. Candidates should understand the latest skills, techniques, and approaches to inspire learners. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines and to inspire, motivate, and engage students.
