What does a Land & Utility Surveyor do?
Land & Utility Surveyors are essential to the success of construction, infrastructure, and development projects. Primarily, land surveyors measure and map the physical features and boundaries of a property using advanced tools such as GPS, total stations, and 3D scanning technologies. This data forms the foundation for site planning, design, and legal documentation.
In addition to surface mapping, many surveyors are also skilled in utility surveying. They employ technologies like Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Locators to detect underground utilities. This helps prevent costly errors, ensures compliance, and reduces risks to both workers and existing infrastructure.
By delivering precise, reliable data above and below the ground, land and utility surveyors help ensure every project begins with clarity and confidence.
