Job summary

JP Engineering in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire is seeking a Trainee Land Surveyor to join our busy construction team. This is ideal for someone at the start of their career, including graduates or those with up to 12 months surveying experience.

You'll receive practical training from experienced surveyors and work on live projects, learning to set out, take measurements, use GPS, Total Stations and laser levels, and develop site procedures for future progression.

Qualifications

• This role welcomes graduates or those with up to 12 months surveying experience.
• Interest in land surveying, construction or civil engineering requested.
• Full UK driving licence or near to obtaining one is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with setting out and surveying on construction sites.
• Learning to use GPS, Total Stations and laser levels.
• Taking accurate measurements and recording site data.
• Setting out foundations, drainage, structures and other works.
• Working with drawings, coordinates and site plans.
• Supporting senior surveyors with daily site activities.
• Carrying out checks and assisting with as-built surveys.
