Job description

Terra Tek Ltd, part of the Igne Group of companies, is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to join its team in Daventry. We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients to find cost-effective solutions for their building projects.

All we need from you is a willingness to learn, to be happy getting your hands dirty, and to be able to move samples that can weigh in excess of 15kg. A Trainee Laboratory Technician’s Key Responsibilities:

• Testing various construction materials e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
• Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets
• Liaise with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures
• Work within in-house quality assurance systems
• Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies

Your Qualifications:

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

About You:

• You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal
• Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements – samples can weigh in excess of 15kg
• You must be confident to work in a team environment

Salary & Benefits:

• Basic salary is £26,208 with overtime available after 40 hours and at the weekends a rate of x1.25
• Continual training and development
