Trainee IT Support Engineer - 12 Months

Role Description:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic placement year student tojoin our dynamic IT team for 12 months. The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive training to provide technical assistance and support to our clients and internal staff. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for technology to kick start their career in the IT industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
• Learn to install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications.
• Provide basic technical support and guidance to users via phone, email, or in person.
• Document support activities, solutions, and procedures for future reference.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Provide remote support for employees working off-site or in different locations.
• Shadow the IT Support Engineers to gain confidence within the role, to develop under the guidance of the lead support engineer and IT service delivery manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), and software applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues of various technical backgrounds.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to support business needs.
• Prior experience in a customer service or technical support role is desirable but not required.
