Job summary

Jackson Lees Group in Liverpool is seeking a motivated Trainee Immigration Caseworker to join the Immigration team. This structured trainee role aims to progress to Law Society Senior Immigration Caseworker accreditation within six months, through passing the accreditation exam.

You will gain exposure to asylum and immigration matters with supervision. As you develop your knowledge, you will advise and represent clients funded under legal aid, maintain files, meet deadlines and build

• A legal degree or equivalent legal experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and case management skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work within strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of senior members of the Immigration team.
• Meet with clients and assist with asylum and immigration cases funded under legal aid.
• Comply with client care standards, professional requirements and legal aid rules.
• Continue to train, develop and enhance your knowledge of immigration and asylum law.
• Manage work carefully, maintaining accurate files and meeting all deadlines.
• Support the prompt and accurate billing of files.
• Build effective working relationships with colleagues, peers and clients.
