Motus Commercials is recruiting for a Trainee Service & Maintenance Technician to join a two-year structured training programme at our Carlisle, Dumfries or Penrith sites. The role offers 40 hours per week with a clear pathway to professional qualifications and a nationally recognised IRTEC qualification.

You will train under experienced Technicians, attend DAF Trucks training, and advance to diagnosing faults, servicing, inspections and safe workshop practices within a supportive mentorship

Qualifikationen

• Be proactive and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Have genuine interest in the commercial vehicle industry and be keen to learn from experienced Technicians.
• Be enthusiastic, committed and confident, with a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality work.
• Have a genuine passion for mechanical engineering and commercial vehicles.

Aufgaben

• Diagnose vehicle faults and develop the skills to conduct diagnostics independently.
• Assist with and progress to routine servicing and maintenance inspections to manufacturer standards.
• Work towards full vehicle inspections and the IRTEC qualification.
• Attend manufacturer training courses delivered by DAF Trucks with hands-on workshop experience.
• Develop an understanding of safe working practices and workshop procedures.
• Build the technical skills to service, maintain and repair commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
