Position:TRAINEE HGV DRIVER & REMOVALS OPERATIVE

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with van driving experience, looking for a new challenge within the removals sector, to join a prestigious and growingteam based in Brandon, Suffolk.

You will be responsible for moving and handling customers household/ personal possessions, whilst undertaking the HGV Training programme to obtain a Class 2 licence.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Initially undertake and learn the role of a Removals Operative by shadowing current Drivers and Senior Drivers to secure knowledge of the role, routes and build confidence
  • Interacting and communicating effectively with our Customers and Colleagues in the movement of good across UK and Europe
  • Provide assistance in the moving and handling of customer goods, including van driving to and from location (long and short distances) across the UK and Europe
  • Packing and wrapping customer goods before manually and physically lifting (aided and unaided) onto vehicles or into location
  • Completing the necessary on the job paperwork to a high standard
  • Following H&S Guidelines and carrying out Banks-person duties
  • Begin to learn the full role of a Removals Operative whilst undertaking HGV Driver Training

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Full UK drivers’ licence (no more than 3 points) –Essential
  • Valid Passport (for potential European travel)
  • Excellent customer service and organisational skills –Essential
  • Experience in light commercial or delivery driving –Essential
  • Previous removals sector experience -Desirable
  • Multilingual –Desirable
  • Previous warehouse/ Forklift experience –Desirable

Remuneration & Benefits Package:

  • Competitive starting Salary, rising during and upon the completion of the HGV Driver Training Programme
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates when applicable
  • Days- Normal days of work: Monday to Friday.
  • Hours- 50 hours per week (weekdays) times can vary depending on the job and can finish late on occasion.
  • Nights away and occasional weekends at increased rates when required
  • Based out of the Brandon depot
