Job description

Trainee Hearing Aid Audiologist - Guildford

We are currently recruiting apprentices to join our Hearing Aid Dispenser Level 5 Apprenticeship. Successful completion of the 14-month apprenticeship will provide eligibility to register as a Hearing Aid Dispenser with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with guaranteed employment on registration.

With a starting salary of £24,230 (+ company car/car allowance after 35 weeks) and once qualified an OTE package of circa £55,000

What does a Hearing Aid Audiologist do?

As part of a unique and much sought after role in healthcare in the UK, you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, advice, and patient care.
  • Carry out hearing assessments.
  • Provide and sell the most appropriate hearing solutions.
  • Support patients through the fitting and provide aftercare to ensure the best results possible.
  • Work within HCPC standards of performance, conduct, and ethics.
  • Work in the heart of the community visiting patients in their own homes.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4 / A – C which must include Maths, English, and Science. You will need to provide your certificate on application.
  • Excellent communication skills – a warm, friendly personality with the ability to empathise with patients with a hearing loss.
  • Commerciality and be able to evidence working to targets.
  • IT Skills – confident in the use of IT (MS Office) and an ability to learn new software.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence – with access to a car for the initial 35 week training period.
  • Be able to commit to 60 weeks of training starting 14th July – 2 x 10 week blocks being residential from Monday pm to Thursday pm in Buxton.
  • You must reside in the location you are applying for or relocate by the start date.
  • The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
  • Please note that if English is not your first language you will need an IELTS Level 7 in speaking, writing, and reading (with no level below 6.5).
As an apprentice Hearing Aid Audiologist, you will receive:
  • A basic starting salary of £24,230 (plus London weighting allowance in and around the M25).
  • Increasing on HCPC registration to £37,500+ basic with Commission and Bonus (OTE £55k+).
  • Company car or car allowance (from 35 weeks of employment).
  • Pension.
  • Private Health Insurance (free after 12m qualifying period).
  • Fully funded training (including accommodation for residential elements of the course & meal allowance).
