Job summary

RoslinCT is hiring a Trainee Health, Safety, Sustainability & Environment (HSSE) Coordinator based in Dalkeith, Scotland. The role will support the EHS Manager and Head of Sustainability, helping implement and maintain EHS and Sustainability practices across sites including BioQuarter, Shawfair, and travel to Penicuik and Livingston as required.

You will assist with policy development, EHS standards, inspections, and sustainability initiatives, while delivering training and aiding incident

Qualifications

  • A valid Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EHS Manager and Head of Sustainability in implementing and maintaining EHS and Sustainability practices.
  • Develop and update policies, EHS standards, forms and documents to ensure compliance.
  • Perform site-wide EHS inspections as part of the monthly schedule.
  • Support company-wide Sustainability initiatives and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Contribute to EHS training delivery and incident reporting/investigation.
  • Collaborate with departments to develop first aid and fire safety arrangements.

Trainee Health, Safety, Sustainability & Environment (HSSE) Coordinator

Location: This role will be predominantly based at our BioQuarter and Shawfair sites. However, travel to other RoslinCT sites, including Penicuik & Livingston will be required.

Your new role

An exciting opportunity for a Trainee HSSE Coordinator to join our team.

You’ll be responsible for assisting the Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Manager and Head of Sustainability with the implementation and maintenance of EHS and Sustainability practices and procedures.

Supporting with developing and updating policies, EHS standards, forms and documents to ensure compliance with current legislation and company processes.

Performing site-wide EHS inspections as part of the cross functional monthly inspection schedule.

Supporting EHS and Sustainability initiatives across the company including the annual S2 week.

Supporting delivery of our company wide Sustainability goals, including initiatives that help report and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Contributing and delivering EHS training on a number of topics.

Assisting with the reporting and investigation of all accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences where incidents are investigated, causes are identified and actions are implemented.

Supporting the development of first aid & fire safety arrangements by liaising with departments to address training needs.

Working to promote a positive safety culture trough leading by example & engaging with employees.

About you

We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to start or further their career in Health & Safety. Previous experience and relevant qualifications would be beneficial; however, it is not a requirement, as on-the-job training will be provided.

A valid Full UK Driving License is required as travel between company sites will be necessary.

Strong attention to detail.

Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks.

A positive and determined attitude, willing to continually promote RoslinCT’s values.
