About The Role
Reporting to the Health and Safety Advisor and accountable to the Director of Estates & Facilities, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of health and safety practices across our organisation. Your responsibilities will include assisting with audits, monitoring accidents and incidents, gathering insurance information, and motivating staff to embed a strong health and safety culture.
You will gain comprehensive knowledge of Autism Together’s health and safety policies and contribute to their effective implementation, helping to safeguard the wellbeing of our staff, the people we support, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support health and safety audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards
- Assist in accident and incident investigations and RIDDOR reporting
- Promote a proactive health and safety culture throughout the organisation
- Help maintain risk assessments, fire checks, and other routine safety activities
- Provide advice and support to managers and staff on health and safety matters
- Collect and analyse health and safety data to inform management decisions
- Attend meetings and build effective relationships across all Autism Together sites
What We’re Looking For
- A keen interest in pursuing a career in health and safety
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and develop professionally
- English at grade C/level 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
Qualifications
- Willingness to work towards the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (training support provided)
