Job summary

Oliver Valves is seeking a Trainee Gardener to join our team in Alderley Edge & Knutsford. The role focuses on assisting with garden maintenance, mowing lawns, strimming, edging and hedge cutting, while learning horticultural skills under supervision.

We provide full training, and you will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A supportive team environment and ongoing opportunities for learning are offered, with a competitive hourly rate and benefits.

Qualifications

• Full training is provided.
• Basic numeracy and literacy required.
• Own transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the existing gardener in beautifully established gardens/grounds.
• Assist with mowing lawns, strimming, edging, and hedge cutting.
• Maintain gardens to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Support seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, pruning, and planting.
• Work effectively as part of a team while developing horticultural knowledge and skills.

What You’ll Be Doing As a Workshop Operative

• To work with the existing gardener in beautifully established gardens/grounds
• Assist with mowing lawns, strimming, edging, and hedge cutting.
• Maintain gardens to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Support seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, pruning, and planting.

What You’ll Bring

• Have some experiance with manual handling activities
• Are reliable and take pride in your work
• Have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a team
• Are keen to learn and get stuck in as a workshop operative
• Have basic numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
• Own transport
