Job summary

CTRG is hiring a Trainee Funeral Service Crew member in Bradford, with occasional travel to Keighley. This 12-week temp-to-perm opportunity requires a full UK manual driving licence and offers hands-on, fully funded training with structured progression.

You will learn coffin preparation, ceremonial vehicle handling, and transfer of the deceased, while developing empathy and reliability. After successful training, a permanent role may be offered; weekly pay is provided during training.

Qualifications

• Empathy, discretion and a calm, supportive manner.
• Punctuality and high personal presentation standards.
• Willingness to perform manual handling and lifting with full training.
• Clean UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call rota after training.

Responsibilities

• Support coffin preparation and care centre maintenance during training.
• Assist ceremonial fleet care and vehicle duties.
• Learn coffin bearing and cortege participation.
• Shadow managers and embalmers during observations.
• Progress to independent duties and potential permanent placement after training.
