Job summary

Student Times is seeking a Trainee Service & Installations Engineer to learn a skilled trade in fire sprinkler systems, with full training and a structured progression from Trainee to Junior Engineer within 12 months.

Based in Stockport and covering the North West & West Yorkshire, you’ll work with an experienced Lead Engineer on servicing, inspections and fault finding, with opportunities to progress into senior roles.

Qualifications

• Hard-working and mechanically inclined with a practical mindset.
• Willing to learn and follow training to gain industry qualifications.
• Ability to travel across North West and West Yorkshire.
• Strong work ethic and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine servicing, inspection, testing and maintenance of residential/commercial fire sprinkler systems.
• Support fault finding, troubleshooting and remedial repairs, including CPVC pipework.
• Learn sprinkler installations and develop practical problem-solving skills.
• Maintain service reports and compliance paperwork using company systems.
