Job summary

First Call Contract Services is hiring a Trainee Fire Sprinkler Project Engineer in Little Walden, Essex. This office-based trainee position offers full training and mentorship from experienced Project Engineers to help you develop design, planning, and technical skills in fire protection systems.

No prior fire sprinkler experience is required; you will learn CAD and project delivery, with travel across the UK as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Strong willingness to learn and develop.

• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical information.
• No previous industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Learn the design principles of automatic fire suppression sprinkler systems.
• Support senior engineers with project planning and system design.
• Review technical drawings, schematics and layouts.
• Assist with preparing project documentation and technical reports.
• Learn to use industry-standard software, including CAD packages.
• Liaise with colleagues, suppliers and customers to support project delivery.
• Develop an understanding of fire protection standards and design requirements.
• Support the delivery of projects from initial design through to completion.
• Attend project sites across the UK when required, with all travel expenses reimbursed.
