Do you want to get into financial planning but have no experience? This might be a great opportunity. Our client is looking to hire a graduate or school leaver who wants to build a career in financial advice. This is a chance to join a growing Financial Planning firm based in Somerset. The role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to the Financial Planning and paraplanning team. Full training and future exam support will be offered to help you become a paraplanner and financial planner if interested. The admin team works in a pod system supporting around 10 financial advisors and 4 paraplanners, helping you get to know clients, financial planning products, and providers. This is a varied and busy position requiring the successful candidate to provide a full range of administrative support. The role is office-based, so candidates need to be Somerset-based. Once trained, responsibilities include:

  • Responding promptly to advisor/client queries.
  • Obtaining information, planning valuations, key features, and illustrations required by advisers to research clients’ needs prior to recommendations.
  • Processing new business from submission to completion, adhering to service standards and operational procedures.
  • Maintaining compliant client records on the back-office system.
  • Scanning and saving all documents in line with file structure standards.
  • Maintaining review dates for periodic assessments of suitability.
  • Carrying out client administration following compliance guidance and department procedures.
  • Increasing your technical knowledge.
  • Assisting with administrative duties as required.

An ideal candidate will have some office or work experience, excellent customer service, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Be open to developing a career in financial planning, have a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
