Forvis Mazars Trainee Financial Planners provide support to financial planners in managing a portfolio of existing clients and help identify and develop new prospect opportunities with existing and new clients, supporting planners in the preparation of proposal and engagement documents. #LI-DNP

About the role

• Support Financial Planners in managing a portfolio of existing clients.
• Assist with the delivery of ongoing financial planning services.
• Provide support on ad hoc advice requests and planning issues arising from client relationships.
• Help prepare client meeting documentation and follow‑up actions.
• Assist with annual review processes and client servicing activities.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure documentation is up to date.

Technical & Advisory Support

• Gather and analyse client information.
• Assist in preparing suitability reports, recommendations and planning documentation.
• Support research activities, including investment, pension, protection and estate planning solutions.
• Liaise with paraplanners, client support teams and compliance functions to progress client work efficiently.

Business Development

• Help identify and develop opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Support planners in the preparation of proposals, engagement documents and presentations.
• Participate in networking and internal referral activities where appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with colleagues across the wider business to generate opportunities.

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with FCA requirements, internal policies and compliance procedures.
• Support anti-money laundering, client onboarding and due diligence processes.
• Maintain appropriate records and documentation standards.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining technical knowledge.

The Trainee Financial Planner role is typically a developmental position that provides experience across client servicing, financial planning, technical analysis and business development, supporting progression towards a Financial Planner role.
