  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Resolve stakeholder queries.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.

Overview

Trainee Finance Manager| £30,000 - £35,000 DOE | Burnley | Study Support | Exceptional mentorship and progression | 25 Days plus Bank Holidays
Axon Moore have exclusively partnered with an award winning business based in Burnley, in their search for a Trainee Finance Manager to join their current finance function. Reporting directly to the FD, this role will provide the opportunity to gain experience working with monthly management accounts while assisting with transactional duties. There will be a significant training period to gain full and thorough understanding of their current procedures and systems before eventually leading their small finance team. We are looking for a candidate who has at least 2 years' experience working with accounts payable/accounts receivable and wish to progress to working on monthly management accounts.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Aspects of both purchase and sales ledger
  • Weekly bank reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Resolving stakeholder queries
  • Analysing costs and expenses and identifying areas for cost control and improvements
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts
  • Prepare & reconcile information for quarterly VAT returns.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Minimum AAT L3 qualified with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Extensive experience with Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Excellent IT and MS Excel skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Work efficiently towards meeting deadlines
