Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Ltd on behalf of a UK leader in water efficiency is recruiting a Trainee Field Technician. You will join the Field Services Team and gain hands-on experience with clean water networks, delivering flushing programmes across the Wessex Water region, mainly Taunton and Yeovil.

Full training and nationally recognised qualifications are provided. A full driving licence is required, and you must be prepared to work outdoors, including nights, with day and night shift rosters and

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned mains flushing with the Wessex Water team.
• Systematically flush clean water mains to schedule.
• Work to water hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Operate valves and hydrants using calm network principles.
• Monitor turbidity, chlorine, flow rates and volumes.
• Apply pollution prevention measures throughout operations.

The Trainee Field Technician Role

You’ll join the Field Services Team as a Water Quality Flushing Technician, gaining hands on experience with clean water networks. Working across the Wessex Water region—mainly Taunton and Yeovil you’ll help deliver flushing programmes that reduce discolouration issues and improve network performance. During drought periods, you may support additional water network activities.

Trainee Field Technician Main Duties

• Deliver planned mains flushing with the Wessex Water team

• Operate valves and hydrants using calm network principles
