Job summary

Fort Recruitment is seeking a self-motivated Trainee Field Engineer to install and configure sensors and monitoring equipment on the wastewater network. This full-time permanent role includes comprehensive training, a company vehicle, and all necessary tools and equipment.

You will be trained to become a fully qualified Field Engineer with progression opportunities, working Monday to Friday with a Pension, mobile phone and laptop provided.

Qualifications

• Full manual driving licence required.
• No prior experience needed; full training provided.
• Electrical or mechanical background an advantage.
• Strong work ethic and quick learner during training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to install and maintain sensors and instrumentation.
• Drive between sites in all weather conditions.
• Lift and move equipment and chamber covers; work in confined spaces.
• Assist in installation and configuration of monitoring equipment on wastewater network.

Job description

We are seeking a self-motivated individual, ideally with an engineering background, for this Trainee Field Engineer role which involves installing & configuring sensors and monitoring equipment on the Wastewater network.

This is a full-time permanent position working for an outstanding Company who will provide full training, a vehicle and the equipment needed for the role. You will become a fully trained Field Engineer and also receive training in other specialist areas of the firm’s business.

Trainee Field Engineer – Benefits

• A starting salary of £28,700pa (consisting of salary and area weighting)
• Salaries are then increased every 6 months during training quickly rising to £34,100pa
• Salaries will then continue to rise based on progression and performance

Trainee Field Engineer (Water Industry) - Daily activities

• Driving from site to site and working outside in all weather conditions
• Lifting, carrying and moving equipment and chamber covers
• Entry into and working within confined spaces
• Installing and maintaining a variety of sensors and instrumentation

Trainee Field Engineer (Water Industry) - The Candidate

• Full driving licence for manual gears is essential
• No prior experience is necessary as all training will be provided for the role
• Previous electrical or mechanical experience of any nature an advantage
• Previous as a field engineer is useful
• Relevant academic qualifications an advantage e.g. BTEC Engineering or BTEC Electrical
• You must have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn quickly during training
• You will be interacting with customers/clients on a daily basis so excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
