Job description

We are seeking a self-motivated individual, ideally with an engineering background, for this Trainee Field Engineer role which involves installing & configuring sensors and monitoring equipment on the Wastewater network. This is a full-time permanent position working for an outstanding Company who will provide full training, a vehicle and the equipment needed for the role. You will become a fully trained Field Engineer and also receive training in other specialist areas of the firm’s business.

Trainee Field Engineer – Benefits

1. A starting salary of £26,400pa (consisting of a salary and regional weighting)
2. Salaries are then increased every 6 months during training quickly rising to £30,800pa
3. Salaries will then continue to rise based on progression and performance

Trainee Field Engineer (Water Industry) - Daily activities

1. Driving from site to site and working outside in all weather conditions
2. Lifting, carrying and moving equipment and chamber covers
3. Entry into and working within confined spaces
4. Installing and maintaining a variety of sensors and instrumentation

Trainee Field Engineer (Water Industry) - The Candidate

1. Full driving licence essential
2. No prior experience is necessary as all training will be provided for the role
3. Previous electrical or mechanical experience of any nature an advantage
4. Previous experience as a field engineer is useful
5. Relevant academic qualifications an advantage e.g. BTEC Engineering or BTEC Electrical
6. You must have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn quickly during training
7. You will be interacting with customers/clients on a daily basis so excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
8. Flexibility to accommodate business needs
