Overview

Hayward Hawk are recruiting on behalf of a law firm who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Executive Assistant / Level Legal Secretary to join their firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the legal sector, offering hands-on experience, training, and the opportunity to grow within a supportive legal environment.

This role will not suit someone with prior legal qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to solicitors and legal executives
  • Prepare and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and post
  • Maintain accurate client records and case files (electronic and paper-based)
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates
  • File legal documents with courts and external agencies as required
  • Carry out basic legal research and data entry
  • Assist with billing, time recording, and other administrative tasks as needed
Key Requirements
  • Experience coming from a professional services environment
  • Previous administrative or office experience is desirable (legal experience not essential)
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
