About

Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) and SCAPE. Formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio.

We deliver multi-disciplinary property design, consultancy, master planning, regeneration, project/programme management, construction, emergency, reactive, compliance asset management, planned services, estate management services, as well as managing development/disposal projects on behalf of Nottingham County Council.

Your New Role

We're looking for a Trainee Estates Surveyor to join our in-house Estates Practice. This is a great opportunity to grow and build a career by joining our multi-disciplinary, registered RICS Estate Management Practice, providing valuation and estate management services for Nottinghamshire County Council and other clients.

The role is varied, offering opportunities to build on your academic knowledge and gain experience in property maintenance, account servicing, and acquisition/disposal of property from inception to completion. Arc Partnership is committed to supporting candidates through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence to become qualified Chartered Surveyors.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with property management tasks such as serving notices, negotiating leases, rent reviews, inspections, and maintaining records of condition and dilapidation.
  • Monitor expenditure and authorize payments, including preparing accounts related to service charges, meter readings, and work orders.
  • Prepare valuations for various purposes including market value, rent, rating, insurance, and assets.
  • Participate in negotiations for acquisitions, compulsory purchase, and assessment and settlement of compensation claims.
  • Support property viewings with prospective purchasers.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation and contracts for sales, acquisitions, and compensation claims.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree accredited by RICS or equivalent in a related professional field.
  • Knowledge of estates management, development, and valuation activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Current clean driving license and access to a car.
Desirable Attributes
  • Experience managing client relationships through work placements or previous roles.
  • Understanding of the political, commercial, and economic context of property management and development.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM, Building Safety Regulations, and related laws.
