Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / Trainee Nurse Practitioner

Are you a skilled clinician passionate about sexual health and ready to expand your advancing practice role? We are seeking a Band 6 Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / Trainee Nurse Practitioner (tECP/tNP) to join our forward-thinking, inclusive level 3 Integrated Sexual Health Service.

We welcome applicants from nursing, midwifery, or allied health professional backgrounds who are keen to work autonomously in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

Main duties of the job
  • Undertake a structured training programme supported by the consultant nurses.
  • Develop skills across STI management, contraception, and wider sexual health presentations.
  • Gain competencies aligned with enhanced clinical practice.
  • Be supported to progress into a fully autonomous ECP/NP role on completion of portfolio, competencies, and academic learning.
  • On successful completion of all required competencies, academic modules, and portfolio assessment, you will be eligible for progression to a Band 7 Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / NursePractitioner role within the service, subject to panel review.

Person Specification
Education
  • Professional registration and a degree in related subject.
  • A post registration qualification(s) in area of practice at level 6 or above
  • Good Clinical Practice (or willingness to complete)
  • Recognised physical assessment module at level 7
  • Non-Medical Prescribing
  • Faculty Diploma (DFSRH)
Experience
  • At least 6-months experience in Integrated Sexual Health ore relevant experience
  • Experience of teaching and assessing others
  • Experience of leading and managing others
  • Experience of audit and service development
  • Relevant clinical experience (e.g. gynaecology, obstetrics, urology, HIV, infectious diseases)
Skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of area of practice and demonstrates use of evidence-based practice
  • Able to demonstrate enhanced communication skills and ability to manage a caseload
  • Excellent organisational skills and advanced ICT skills, including Microsoft office
  • Ability to support with change management
